If you have a drinking problem and want to contact someone in Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.), this website offers a number of ways to do this either locally in Area 78 (Alberta, parts of SE & NE B.C. and parts of the Northwest Territories to the Arctic Circle), nationally (other provinces in Canada), or internationally.
In "Contact Information" you will find phone numbers for those places in Area 78 that have some type of answering service under the heading "AA Help Lines".
The telephone numbers listed under "Central Offices & Intergroups" are typically listings in larger urban centres. They may have staff & volunteers to answer calls on many matters pertaining to A.A., plus they often have A.A. literature for sale.
The heading "Area 78" under "Contact Information" provides a means of e-mail contact with the various people serving the members of Alcoholics Anonymous and the general public in Area 78. If you are not certain whom to contact with your question, click on "Service" for function descriptions and explanations, then e-mail to the one you think most likely could answer it. You will receive a response, typically within seven days.
Information on an A.A. meeting near you can also be found by typing the name of the town or city in the box to the left under the heading "SEARCH MEETINGS", then click on the word "SEARCH" below the box or hit "Enter".
Scroll through the list of Results Found until you reach a Result with the word "District" followed by a number and a list of town/city names following the number.
Click on the Result with the word "District" and town names. Scroll down the list to find the town, date, time, and address of the meeting you are looking for.
"SEARCH MEETINGS" box can also be used to find almost anyting else on this website. For example, if you are a professional looking for an A.A. contact, type the word "professional" in the box and click Enter. The search will bring you to "CPC" which is the page for "Co-operation with the Professional Community Committee". There you will find information about CPC and how to contact the CPC committee chairperson.
"Links" contains links to Alcoholics Anonymous World Services webpage with all the information that it has to offer, plus links to the AA Grapevine magazine and a number of websites hosted by Alcoholics Anonymous groups in other provinces in Canada.
"Events" is a listing of A.A. affiliated gatherings and conferences hosted by local groups and members of Alcoholics Anonymous.
In "About" you will find a brief geographic description of Area 78 of Alcoholics Anonymous, and, the Guidelines for this website.
